A Life of Service
Officer Cajuso served his community with distinction for a decade. According to the Miami Beach Police Department, he had proudly worn the department’s badge for 10 years, demonstrating unwavering commitment to public safety and a deep sense of duty. He was just 33 years old at the time of his passing.
Known as a “decorated hero” by MBPD Chief Wayne Jones, Officer Cajuso’s reputation extended beyond his motorcycle detail; his dedication resonated across the law-enforcement community in South Florida.
The Tragic Incident
The crash occurred at approximately 11:25 a.m. near the north-bound lanes of Interstate 75 in the Hialeah Gardens area specifically near the junction with Gratigny Parkway. Reports indicate Officer Cajuso’s motorcycle went off the roadway and down a steep embankment.
He was immediately air-lifted to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where medical staff fought to save his life.
Later that afternoon, MBPD and other law-enforcement agencies confirmed he had succumbed to his injuries.
At the scene, dozens of law-enforcement vehicles and units responded, and the crash prompted significant roadway closures as investigators from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) began examining the circumstances of the incident.
A Family Left Behind
Officer Cajuso leaves behind a devoted wife and three young children, aged approximately two, three, and five an unimaginable loss for a young family.
He is also survived by his parents and the large MBPD “family” who mourn his passing deeply.
