The Palisades Park community is grieving the loss of Mr. Jose Chicas, who peacefully passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, after a long and difficult medical battle. 

Surrounded by his devoted wife, Rosa, and their beloved children son Jose and daughters Patricia and Karina he left this world in the embrace of his family, who remained by his side throughout his illness, providing him with love, comfort, and unwavering strength.

Mr. Chicas will forever be remembered as a man of dedication, perseverance, and warmth. 

For more than 40 years, he worked as a skilled chef at the Golden Eagle Diner and Boulevard Diner, establishments where his presence became as much a part of the community as the diners themselves. 

Many patrons came to know him not just for the meals he prepared but also for the kindness and care he poured into his work. 

Food was his way of connecting with others, and through his craft, he left behind countless memories of shared meals and heartfelt conversations.

Beyond his profession, Jose was a family man in the truest sense. His wife and children were his greatest pride and joy, and he dedicated his life to ensuring their well-being and happiness. 

Friends often recall the stories he told about his family, speaking of them with deep affection and admiration. 

His love for Rosa was evident to all who knew them, and the bond he shared with his children was rooted in guidance, encouragement, and unconditional support.
