Jason M. Straub, St. Marys, PA - Obituary - Death News - Jason M. Straub Passed Away Unexpectedly

Jason M. Straub, a beloved resident of St. Marys, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 18, 2025, at the age of 49.

Born on December 31, 1975, Jason was a devoted husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, son, brother, and friend whose sudden passing has left a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him.

A son of Michael and Krystyna (Sankowski) Straub, Jason grew up in the St. Marys community, embracing its values of family, hard work, and closeness . In 2005, he married Wendie Klaiber, a partnership that endured through nearly two decades of love, laughter, and shared memories.

The couple raised two children in St. Marys: Owen Straub and Isabella Straub, both of whom predeceased him in narrative but whose upbringing was a testament to Jason’s role as a caring and involved father.

Jason's family extended beyond his biological children to include his cherished stepchildren Dakota Kemmerer and Kyle Auman, both from Casper, Wyoming, and Ethan Auman, from St. Marys who came to know him as a second father.

He was equally proud of his grandchildren, Scarlett and Haisleigh, who brought immense joy into his life and kept his warmth and enthusiasm alive.

He is also survived by his sister Rebecca Benson (née Straub) of Petersburg, Virginia, and his niece Mia, as well as his devoted parents. He was preceded in death by his grandparents—Thaddeus and Antonina Sankowski, Jerome and Eunice “Peggy” Straub.
