It is with profound sadness that the family of Gabrielle Elisabeth “Gaby” Bechtler‑Myers announces her peaceful passing on July 21, 2025, in Norwalk, Ohio, at the age of 37.
Born on April 19, 1988, Gaby was cherished by her family, friends, and the broader community for her kindness, warmth, and vibrant spirit.
Gaby was predeceased by her grandmother, Irmgard Javis—a loss deeply felt by all who knew her.
She is lovingly survived by her devoted parents, Nancy Hanna and Timothy Bechtler; her grandfathers, John Bechtler and Charles Hanna; her siblings Petra Vance (Lori), Lindsey Aldrich (John), John Bechtler, and Adam Bechtler (Estelle); and her beloved nieces and nephews Nyle, Sloane, Asher, and Greg Myers.
In addition, Gaby is remembered by a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends who enriched her life with laughter, support, and shared memories.
Gaby’s presence in Norwalk and beyond was marked by her unwavering compassion, generosity, and commitment to community.
She took joy in everyday acts of kindness whether lending an attentive ear, offering a helping hand, or brightening a room with her warm smile. Her genuine interest in others and her capacity to connect deeply made her a pillar of strength for those around her.
The family will receive friends and loved ones during a visitation on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Walker‑Eastman‑Heydinger Funeral Home (98 W Main St, Norwalk, OH 44857).
In honor of her life and her enduring love for animals, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Simon Foundation at the Huron County Humane Society, located at 246 Woodlawn Ave., Norwalk, Ohio 44857.
