Norma Jean Williams - Obituary - Norma Jean Williams - Death News - Norma Jean Williams Has Passed Away

Norma Jean Renfro Glass Williams, 92, of Glasgow, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home, surrounded by compassionate care.

A lifelong resident of Barren County, Norma was born to the late William Neal Renfro and Mamie B. Hodges Renfro, who instilled in her the values of hard work, kindness, and devotion to family that she carried throughout her life.

Norma was a woman of quiet strength and generous spirit, known to many for her warm heart and unwavering concern for the well-being of others.

Early in her career, she worked alongside Steve Brown to help establish the Barren County Health Care Center in Glasgow. This was no small undertaking, and Norma took great pride in being part of an effort that would go on to serve generations of families in the community.

She remained employed at the facility for many years as a dietician, where her work was not simply a job, but a calling. Norma believed deeply in the importance of nourishment and care, and she approached her role with dedication, compassion, and a sincere desire to help others feel comforted and cared for.

Outside of her professional life, Norma found her greatest joy in simple pleasures and shared moments. She loved spending time outdoors, especially going on trail rides with her husband, Clifton Williams.

Those who rode alongside them will fondly remember Norma riding in the wagon, always prepared with ham and biscuits to share. She was happiest when she was feeding others, and she truly hated to see anyone go hungry. This small but meaningful act of generosity perfectly reflected the way she lived her life quietly giving, always thinking of others first.

Norma was deeply devoted to her family. She is survived by two sons, Dennis E. Glass of Bon Ayr and Ricky Glass and his wife Glenna of Glasgow. She was a proud grandmother to three grandchildren and a loving great-grandmother to two great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride. Her family remembers her as a steady presence, a good listener, and a source of comfort and wisdom.

In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her two husbands, Herman E. Glass and Clifton R. Williams, both of whom she loved dearly. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Marjorie Coulter, and Marjorie’s husband, Cecil.

Honoring Norma’s wishes, the family has chosen cremation, with a private burial service to be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.

Norma Jean Renfro Glass Williams will be remembered for her kindness, her work ethic, and her lifelong habit of caring for others. Her legacy lives on in the family she loved, the community she served, and the countless lives she touched through simple acts of generosity and grace.
