The bullets didn't fly during the argument itself—they came afterward, after the shouting stopped, after Henderson's child's mother had already walked away from the house on 32nd Street North, after it seemed the worst was over. That's when Brittney Watson showed up. The 26-year-old Brighton woman arrived in a separate vehicle that Saturday morning in November and fired multiple rounds into the occupied home in Birmingham's Collegeville neighborhood, striking 30-year-old Anson Quandarius Henderson and killing him. Police had originally been sent to the block around 10:14 a.m. for a domestic disturbance between Henderson and his child's mother, a situation that seemed to be winding down when gunfire erupted. Watson didn't stay to face what she'd done—officers say she attempted to flee the area but was caught near 32nd Avenue and 32nd Place

The bullets didn’t fly during the argument itself they came afterward, after the shouting had ceased, after Henderson’s child’s mother had already walked away from the house on 32nd Street North, after it seemed the worst of the confrontation was over.

What initially appeared to be a tense but contained domestic dispute erupted into tragedy moments later, leaving neighbors shocked and the community reeling.

That’s when Brittney Watson, 26, of Brighton, arrived. Authorities say she drove up in a separate vehicle that Saturday morning in November, pulling into the quiet residential street of Birmingham’s Collegeville neighborhood. Without warning, Watson opened fire on the home, sending multiple rounds into the building where 30-year-old Anson Quandarius Henderson was still inside.

Henderson was struck by the gunfire and later pronounced dead at the scene. The sudden violence left those in the neighborhood shaken, as what began as a heated domestic dispute ended in a devastating act of murder.

Police had originally been dispatched to the block around 10:14 a.m. to respond to a domestic disturbance between Henderson and his child’s mother. According to reports, the situation initially appeared to be winding down.

The argument had calmed, and Henderson’s child’s mother had left the scene on her own, heading away from the home. For a brief moment, it seemed the crisis had passed, yet the calm proved tragically deceptive. Just minutes later, gunfire erupted, transforming a routine domestic call into a homicide investigation.

Watson did not remain at the scene to face the consequences of her actions. Law enforcement officials reported that she attempted to flee the area immediately after the shooting, weaving through the streets in an apparent effort to avoid capture. Officers pursued leads quickly, and she was apprehended near the intersection of 32nd Avenue and 32nd Place.

Authorities have since confirmed her arrest, and the case has been turned over to the district attorney’s office for potential charges related to the fatal shooting.

Investigators are working to reconstruct the timeline of events leading up to the shooting, including the argument that occurred inside the house prior to the arrival of Watson. Police statements suggest that understanding the dynamics of the domestic dispute and Watson’s motivations will be critical to the ongoing investigation.

Ballistics experts, forensic teams, and detectives are reviewing the scene and evidence to determine the exact trajectory of the bullets, the number of shots fired, and the sequence of events that resulted in Henderson’s death.

The tragic incident has left neighbors and community members grappling with the sudden loss of life in what had seemed like an ordinary residential neighborhood.

Friends and family remember Henderson as a young man whose life was cut short in a senseless act of violence, and the case has reignited discussions around domestic disputes, firearm safety, and community intervention in escalating conflicts.

As police continue their investigation, authorities have emphasized the importance of witness cooperation and the collection of evidence to ensure accountability for the fatal shooting.
