Carlos Enrique Gonzalez Cano, age 55, peacefully passed away at his residence on November 4, 2025. Born on May 9, 1970 in MedellÃn, Colombia, he was the beloved son of Jaime León Gonzalez and Margarita Cano Gonzalez of Bridgeport.
Together with his parents, Carlos immigrated to the United States in 1972, and the family eventually settled in Norwalk where he grew up.
A graduate of J.M. Wright Technical High School in Stamford (class of 1988), Carlos pursued a career rooted in manufacturing and precision work.
He served for more than 22 years as a milling foreman, CNC programmer, and machinist with Richard Manufacturing Company in Milford a career marked by dedication, expertise, and a steady work ethic.
Beyond his career, Carlos had a zest for life that touched everyone around him. He loved to travel especially to the Caribbean and Mexico and found great solace and peace on tropical beaches.
Hiking was another of his passions; he embraced nature and adventure with a steady gear.
He was known among friends and family for his affable personality, his natural charisma, and the way he could bring a room to life.
Carlos is survived by his devoted children: Charles J. Gonzalez and his wife Lisbeth of Bridgeport, and Patricia Destree and her husband Benjamin of Wisconsin.
He also leaves behind his sister, Isabel Gonzalez of New Canaan; two brothers, Jaime Gonzalez (and his wife Ishell) and Mario Gonzalez, both of Norwalk; as well as many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. A special mention to his faithful feline companion, Milo, who shared quiet days at home with him.
In reflecting on his life, we remember a man who balanced strength and kindness in equal measure. Professionally skilled, he was respected for his technical mastery and reliability.
Personally, he was warm‑hearted, someone who made friends easily, someone whose laughter and presence were gifts to those fortunate enough to know him.
He found joy not just in big plans or far‑flung trips, but in everyday moments a Sunday hike, a beach walk, a quiet day at home with loved ones.
While his passing leaves a profound ache, his life leaves an enduring legacy. The memories of his laughter, of his generous spirit, of his caring for his family and his friends, will live on.
The beaches he visited, the trails he climbed, the precision work he did these are all parts of his story that continue through us.
Family and friends were invited to pay their respects on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:30 pm at Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.
A Celebration of Life followed at 6:30 pm. Interment was private. Online condolences may be shared at the funeral home website.
In loving memory of Carlos, we rejoice in a life well‑lived full of purpose, warmth, and adventure.
Though he has left this world, his spirit remains among us: in the breath of the sea breeze, the quiet of a forest trail, in the laughter of children, and in the loving embrace of family.
May we carry his memory forward with gratitude, love, and the promise to live our days with as much heart and joy as he did.
Rest in peace, Carlos. Your journey continues in the lives of those who loved you. 🌿
