She is listed as owner of Reclaim Wellness and formerly Mind & Body Healthcare. The investigation began when pharmacies reported suspicious activity, leading detectives to gather records and testimony. Authorities allege she overprescribed medications, issued fraudulent scripts, and dispensed ketamine improperly. Search warrants at her Carmel office and residence produced further evidence. Officials confirm the case is ongoing as they prepare to release the probable cause affidavit.

The arrest of Katherine Curtis, 34, marks the culmination of an extensive, months-long investigation that brought together the efforts of both local and federal law enforcement agencies.

Authorities say that through their coordinated work, they uncovered a detailed pattern of fraudulent prescription activity tied to Curtis, who is listed as the owner of Reclaim Wellness and formerly operated Mind & Body Healthcare.

She was booked into the Hamilton County Jail on Thursday and now faces a series of preliminary charges, including unlawful dispensation of a controlled substancedealing in a controlled substance, and obtaining drugs by fraud.

The investigation reportedly began after several local pharmacies flagged suspicious prescription activity associated with Curtis’s medical practices.

Pharmacists noticed irregularities in the frequency and volume of prescriptions being filled, as well as inconsistencies in patient information.

These reports prompted detectives to launch a deeper inquiry, collecting medical and pharmacy records, interviewing witnesses, and reviewing prescription data.

Over time, the evidence began to point toward a systematic effort to issue and fill prescriptions outside of normal medical practices.

Authorities allege that Curtis not only overprescribed medications but also issued fraudulent prescriptions and improperly dispensed ketamine, a powerful anesthetic that has gained attention for its use in treating depression but remains tightly regulated due to its potential for abuse.

Investigators believe that Curtis may have used her position and professional credentials to obtain controlled substances under false pretenses, thereby violating both state and federal drug laws.

Detectives also suspect that some prescriptions were written for individuals who were not legitimate patients or for quantities that far exceeded standard therapeutic use.

In an effort to gather further evidence, law enforcement executed search warrants at both Curtis’s Carmel office and her residence earlier this month.

Officials have confirmed that these searches yielded important documentation and materials that are now being analyzed as part of the broader investigation.

Although authorities have not yet disclosed the full extent of what was found, they described the evidence as significant in supporting the allegations of fraudulent activity.

As of Thursday evening, officials stated that the case remains active and ongoing. Prosecutors and investigators are currently finalizing the probable cause affidavit, which will detail the findings that led to Curtis’s arrest and provide a more complete picture of the alleged scheme.

Once filed, this document is expected to outline how Curtis’s practices came under scrutiny and the methods used to trace the web of prescriptions connected to her clinics.

The case highlights the growing collaboration between local law enforcement, federal drug enforcement agencies, and state medical licensing boards in combating prescription-related fraud and abuse.

Officials say such investigations are crucial in protecting both patients and the integrity of the medical system.

As the legal process moves forward, Curtis remains in custody at the Hamilton County Jail, awaiting her first court appearance, while investigators continue to piece together what they describe as a “complex pattern of deception and controlled substance misuse.”
