Maria was born on May 3, 1947, in San Salvador, El Salvador, and later made Los Angeles, California her home. Over the years, she became a cherished member of her community a woman known for her vibrant energy, her laughter that could light up a room, and her deep compassion for others. She believed in the power of family and community, and her life was a reflection of those values.
In her final months, Maria faced illness with remarkable courage and grace. Though the challenges were many, she never lost her faith or her ability to smile.
